Why have you decided to serve as a Torchbearer for the JLB?
I first met Allison Dearing at a zoning meeting for the City of Birmingham as she was planning the remodel and move to the current One Place facility.   That is where I learned about the critical services that are offered through the program.  Having worked with other non-profits which provide assistance to women who are confronted with really tough issues, I was inspired by Allison to help in getting the building ready to occupy.  Seeing these services combined under one roof, I began understanding how interwoven the varied arms of care are, as well as the great need we have in our community.  A future new facility will enable One Place serve more women.

What/who inspires you to be a Light in our community?
I believe in staying involved in meaningful causes that have the power to change our Community for the better, through lifting up individuals that need the most care.   My children and the children of Birmingham are my inspiration.
