Why have you decided to serve as a Torchbearer for the JLB?
The decision to serve as a Torchbearer was an easy one to make. I was honored to be asked by 2018 Torchbearer Terry Smiley. His commitment to improving the community is unwavering and when he shared the mission for the fundraiser I knew I wanted to support. Many victims of domestic violence suffer in silence because of fear, embarrassment and often because of their love for their partner or significant other. Helping victims survive means having one place where they receive support, education and most importantly access to a safe environment.

What/who inspires you to be a Light in our community?
I am born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. This is the community that educated me, raised me and shaped my perspective on life. Having the opportunity to improve it for future generations is not only my privilege, but my duty. I want to give back to the place I call home.
