Why have you decided to serve as a Torchbearer for the JLB?
The positive impact that the Junior League of Birmingham has on our community is undeniable, and I am honored to have been asked to serve alongside such a driven organization.  One Place is an inspiring example of the benefits that come from the collaboration of various community stakeholders – the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.  Creating a permanent home for One Place is necessary to ensure it continues to be an invaluable asset for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault for many years to come.

What/who inspires you to be a Light in our community?
I was born and raised in Birmingham, and this is where my wife and I decided to raise our three children when we moved from New York City five years ago.  My parents instilled in me the importance of civic responsibility and community service.  They wanted my brother and me to grow up in a community that was safer, stronger, and with more opportunities than the one in which they were raised.  It is now my turn to set an example for my children, and I am inspired to join the countless individuals and organizations before me who have contributed to a better Birmingham.
