Why have you decided to serve as a Torchbearer for the JLB?
The Junior League of Birmingham has given me so much over the last 15 years.  I’ve had the opportunity to learn, grow and lead.  Our upcoming Centennial is a testament to the women who have come before us and will follow us in service.  It’s an honor to be a part of a group that is driven to change lives in our city!

What/who inspires you to be a Light in our community?
The individuals who persevere and overcome adversity every day inspire me.  The single mothers, the first-generation college students, the veterans with new jobs.  During my tenure at the JLB, I’ve seen first-hand the downtrodden, the hurt, and the homeless.  I’ve also seen firsthand how one act of kindness - no matter how seemingly insignificant – can provide hope for those who need it most.  Elementary-school reading mentors, non-profit volunteers and community advocates are the heart and soul of our city, and they inspire me daily to do more.
